Tall Ships Camino Inglés – June 2024

The Saints Way #TSCI24

A prelude to Tall Ships Camino Inglés 2024

A 4.00am start “just in case” meant we had passed Birmingham by 6.00am and arrived 380 miles later inconveniently early in Fowey , deepest Cornwall by 10.30am.

The lull of the road and the long road trip involvement of listening and focus – especially when in a car new to me – suits me.

I happily bound South & calculate , adjust , drive , commiserate with the Jams bound North , chat with Ciara and the hours roll by.

An hour into the drive I have a devilish Diesel – V- Electric moment and send a pic of the remaining range to my Tesl-friends they’ll never achieve. 👀

We head for Fowey Harbour , call our transfer to take us to Padstow say we’ve arrived way early. Seems ok . We’ll be back in 5 days at this spot .

Satisfying to be here at the start of the day.

An hour later we arrive in Padstow at the start point of the Saints Way – book into our Pub – The London Inn.

A quick walk up the hill to St Petrocs Church and arrange to meet the Wardens tomorrow 10.00 am for our Pilgrims Passports and first stamp. Organising them here means the stamps we get along the way in England count towards our Camino in Spain. The Pilgrims office in Santiago and the CSJ – all recognise and encourage this now .

Back in our normal habitat .

Home for tonight .

As the dawn start begins to take its effect – a quick evening spin around the quayside and off to bed .

Night Xx
