Well mostly the 10th but with a little of the evening of the 9th here too.
The kids go for a brief explore and I have a nice coffee and a shot . Luxury in this early Autumn Sun .
Our Hotel Le Chamonix is great – 2* €100 for the 3 of us – classic ski resort room with a nice bar and terrace . Ideal.
We arrange to meet up with Kakai and Maria for dinner with a brief stop on the terrace on the way out
It’s Sad to say farewell to Kakai & Maria – they have been fab company and kept Thom & Luke motivated and amused. They’ve been funny and outrageous especially jumping on the boys when an early start was required. 
. Their attitude , Wisdom and unquenchable enthusiasm as they continue their constant tours around the world from their bases in Hong King and Thailand is an example to us all.
Next for them – the Himalayas and the Annapurna Circuit and we meet up with Kakai in Liverpool in 12 months time as she’s there for the British Open Golf .

It’s time to say good night We’ve certainly made the most of 9 September
SEPTEMBER 10th 2022
As you can see, the weather continues to treat us well . We have a really nice breakfast and then a coffee out on the 2nd little restaurant Terrace attached to the hotel
A happy relaxed band …. No thousands of feet of rise and fall today .
As our Alpy Bus – the best way to Get reasonably from Chamonix to Geneva is not until 12 PM. We have time for some souvenir shopping and some extra Cafe treats.
Some nice new tour T-shirts to add to the ones we bought along the way as you can see from Lukes new shirt.
There is a queue for the bus and many of these people. Don’t realise you have to book ahead as it’s very popular and several of them don’t get on board.
The warmth and enforced relaxation of the two hour journey soon shows.
And that’s it really as we end what can only be described without miss-using the word as a truly awesome journey.
I know that we’ll be back as I would love Ciara and the girls to do this in a couple of years time.
I can put away my favourite high-altitude trek sunscreen away for another year .
Not sure if actual Sherpas use this but it works for me at 8,000 feet
This is the official end to our Tour du Mont Blanc 2022 expedition …. As ever, the enormous trepidation about high altitude adventure, was worth it in some ways as my preparation for this trip has been extensive As a consequence of this.
It’s been emotional ,challenging , fun and dare I say it another life-affirming experience.
All the better for being with family.

12 months on in the late summer of 2023. We did as promised meet up with Kk after she had been around the world several more times. This time on her visit at the British Open golf held in Hoylake near Liverpool.
It was brilliant to see her, and our conversation started off without a pause where we left off in Chamonix back in ‘22
This time at our favorite restaurant with appropriate spicy foods for Kk’s tastes. They always welcoming Mowgli restaurant.
After some hours , dropping by on Kk’s apartment to say hi to her lovely son who is a practicing GP here in England we had time for just one more Bar and the Height difference becomes apparent- this set us giggling – as it always has – great company.
We will no doubt meet up again, as she is always sending us an invitation to go to Kilimanjaro or Kathmandu, or some other exotic adventure . Our Harrison Boys and Kk WhatsApp group has frequent updates.
We all agree that “Travel is the only thing you can spend your money on that truly enriches you”
