We head through the maze of medieval villages . Hot and quiet at this time. This is Cirauqui but both it and Manerū are perched on small hilltops with narrow streets and Portals carved with coats of arms.
However small and for any reason – always time for a festival

Past loaded Vinyards – surprisingly sweet
And too our stop for the night ….. The Hosteria Curtidores – again a simple Alberque €17 pp but this time in an old Mill on the outskirts of Estella. We pay a small addition for a mini-dorm for our own use . Still curtained bunk beds but private bathroom etc built in for us. No lights out at 10pm or trumpeting pilgrims . Nice.
We head out early evening – 5.30pm in hope of an all day restaurant as we’re toooo starved to wait for regular Spanish kitchens to open at 8.00pm .
And through the charming streets of Estella – quiet before evening promenade- see some Texans with Paul Gautier ( He from Roncesvalles ) they’ve been killing the 3 hours before any restaurant serves with beer and a laugh and want us to stay but our focus is nutrition for now and LOTS of it.
So on to the main square – 6/7 year old kids playing football – 
dominated by 6ft Francesco d’Innunzio and his fellow Italian Mattei – who can’t resist a game 
. Lots of little things going on even before the town awakes for the evening.
Hallelujah! – we can eat – a Fifties Style American Diner on the main square . Actually blimmin fab food – all named after ‘50s film stars ( 2 Marilyn’s and a Big Diner Special ) with Boys drink of choice Sangria.
We’ve got a 30 km day tomorrow. V early start . So avoiding the invitation from the now V Excitable Texans , head straight to bed .
